Why Choose a Celebrant-led celebration?
Many couples find the legal ceremony a ‘one-size-fits-all’ affair. Increasingly, people are looking for a more personal way to celebrate their relationship, or naming/ welcoming their child into the world.
Celebrant-led celebrations are not legally binding and, in the case of wedding or partnership celebrations, are usually conducted soon after a Register Office ceremony or, sometimes, after an officiated wedding in a house of worship.
As your celebrant, I will help you plan a creative an imaginative celebration that reflects your individual story. I will incorporate your ideas and wishes, and offer guidance and suggestions, as needed.
Celebrant-led celebrations are highly individual, and many couples choose to exchange vows or promises. They may also incorporate lovely symbolic actions, such as hand-fasting, lighting candles or planting a tree. How you choose to express your love is deeply personal and will very much depend on the symbolism that matters to you.
Although not everyone wishes to include religious elements, I am happy to include blessings, prayers and religious readings, if you wish. I have a spiritual side myself and am very happy to honour yours.
I can conduct celebrations anywhere, any time. I am happy to conduct them in homes, venues such as hotels or village halls, or outdoors. The possibilities are wide and varied and very much your choice.
If you choose me as your celebrant, we will arrange a time to meet - hopefully at your chosen venue so I can get a feel for the logistics. I will ask you lots of questions and learn about your individual journey as couple, or as parents. I will also learn who and what matters most to you, so I can create a celebration that will tell the story of your love and commitment. Together we can share it with those who mean the most to you.
I will produce a draft script of the celebration, and a detailed order of events (including readings, music, toasts) that exactly meets your wishes. I will send this to you for approval in plenty of time - usually at least one month before the ceremony.
Please be aware that I am not a wedding planner, but I will ensure all will run smoothly on the day. I will liaise with venue staff and your chosen wedding planner to make sure that room is laid out according to your wishes and the music is played on cue, that champagne is chilling in preparation for the toast and everyone who is participating knows where they need to be and when.
If you would like to create a celebration that is beautiful, creative, and unique to you, please do get in touch. I look forward to meeting you and hearing your story……
